We've been gone for a minute but WE'RE BACK! Seasons change and people grow; hip hop keeps moving forward into the future.  The masses need change and that change is MAGIC MUSIC, the best collabo on the scene. We're young, progressive, talented, and blessed, what more can I say?

The streets have been set ablaze with new, and old hip hop artists releasing new music. New terms such as "urban music" are used to explain the phenomenon of inner city youth urban culture. Hip hop represents the voices of the rhyme and poetry who use it as an form of expression; young people from their different backgrounds aiming to create social impact through modern urban music. We define the meaning of Hip Hop in its truest form, Forget "LIT", we're setting the whole 011 on fire with NEW MUSIC due for release this summer.

It’s FINALLY here. This is by far the illest Hip Hop Mix-tape ever! Expressions proudly presents BIG MIKE’s Mix-tape titled BIGGIN UP MY BLOCK. B.U.M.B (in short) is a compilation of finely crafted music beats, clever wordplay and street finesse. The album is powered by Big Mike’s dominant vocal presence, which gives life to the swagger and charisma of his hometown, Meadowlands Soweto.  

Big Mike embodies the definition of a real Emcee, a craftsman and wordsmith with a polished and mature sound offering. He has been at it for a very long time, and this is his first Solo offering. Big Mike is truly one of the greatest lyricists of his time.

Meaning to Hip Hop

So it’s all about Hip Hop. Many artists and producers would say that the music industry is tough and very competitive. Well, that’s if you’re chasing the limelight in hopes of becoming a one hit wonder. However, music is an expression of one’s highest self emerging from the sub-conscious into the physical realm. It is an outward interpretation of all the emotions, thoughts, and talent of the individual. Artists ought to always strive for independence. With that being said, a lot of new-age Hip-hop artists make music for the sake of money, fame, cash, cars, and clothes. They seldom regard the art that goes behind the music. Not all Hip-hop is bad. There are many unsigned artist that bring value to Hip Hop and Rap. I believe that musicians should “Seek the Highest First”. Meaning, they’re music should reflect a deep love and appreciation for the music, instead of highlighting the common stereotypes attached to Hip Hop. We can all go cheesy if we want to. Would Hip Hop have the same impact if all of us sounded the same? Magic Music is different from the rest. We aim to take people on a musical journey. Not only does Magic Music produce beats, record and mix its own works, we speak through the tracks. Big Mike has been rapping for numerous years, having worked with the various musicians.
